Christopher Herbert started WASTEM8 after hearing the same problem come up again and again from people in HVAC: waste was eating into their day.

Installers finish a job on time, then have to deal with the waste. Load it in the van or trailer, queue at the tip, and either get through before it shuts or end up taking it back to the factory. Sometimes the trailer's still full from the last job when the next one needs it, so it gets dumped at the factory in a rush just to free it up, then loaded into bins to deal with later. It's a bottleneck that has nothing to do with the actual install.

Christopher built WASTEM8 to take that off installers' hands. HVAC businesses install systems. We deal with the waste.

"People in the trade kept telling me the waste was the real headache, not the job itself. Queuing at the tip, racing the clock, sometimes hauling it back to the factory because the trailer was needed for the next job. It was eating into their day and had nothing to do with what they were actually there to do. I wanted to build something that just took that problem away."

Christopher served in the Australian Army, including an operational deployment overseas. That shaped the way he runs things now: show up when you say you will, do the job properly, and don't cut corners because no one's watching.

WASTEM8 is a family business, run out of the Surf Coast of Victoria. Not a call centre, not a franchise. Local, hands on, and accountable to the tradies who use it.
